54" Ceiling Fan Indoor/Outdoor Four Winds, Models 420-396 421-533

by Karen
(Florida)

We purchased 2 of the above fans in May 2006. Now both are not operating. There is current but the blades barely move. We've tried operating with the remotes as well as pulling on the chains. There is also a light attached to each.

From my description of the blades barely moving on both fans (operated by remote), can you tell me what the problem might be? Both are doing the very same thing. Pulling the strings will do the same thing. There is not enough power coming through to make the blades move much at any speed. We can feel the hum of the motor when we touch the light attached to them.

What to do? Please advise.
