Belt Drive Ceiling Fan
A Classic Style Statement For Any Home!

Belt drive ceiling fan is a truly unique and striking fan ever! Get one home to add a touch of drama and adventure to the settings.

One of the very first ceiling fans that were ever created worked on the belt drive technology. The belt drive fan has been around since 100 years and is now considered a style statement.

Currently manufactured only by Fanimation Company, these belt driven fans are also called pulley driven ceiling fans.

Why is a Belt Driven Ceiling Fan So Unique?

So what makes these fans so striking and unique? Sometimes, a surrounding requires a ceiling fan so unusual and so different that it sets the very tone for the décor of the place.

If you are looking for an eye-catching and singular ceiling fan design, then belt drive fans should be your first choice.

Not only do these fans capture your attention the moment you step foot in a room, but also establishes a sweeping and aesthetic presence.

Pulley-driven ceiling fans are not just functional, but they are moving sculptures that convert your space into an art gallery!

How works a Belt Driven Fan?

So, what drives this type of fan? In a belt driven ceiling fan there is a single motor that’s connected to the fan by a belt driven by a pulley.

The belt driven motor is fixed on the ceiling or the wall and provides the thrust to rotate the blades of the fan. Back in the good old days, this belt was driven with the help of water wheels that were placed outside the home.

An elaborate system of belt and pulley was used to rotate the fan, as there was no electricity. Nowadays, the same system is employed to work the modern day belt driven fans, only with electricity.

Pulley driven fans come in two styles – with a single ceiling fan or with multiple ceiling fans.

Technically, the distance between each fan needs to be approximately 20 feet or more. A total of 5 such fans can be driven by one belt pulley motor.

Typically, belt drive fans are used in commercial spaces such as hotels, restaurants, among others, but they also have a niche residential clientele that installs them in residences as and where the home layout permits them too. These fans are quite expensive and require deep pockets.
