Ceiling Fan Blade Bracket
Strong and Sturdy

The ceiling fan blade bracket is an important and essential part of a ceiling fan.

Since ceiling fans are suspended high from the ceiling, it requires very strong and steady support to ensure that it will not fall down.

The Ceiling Fan: How It Evolved

The first ceiling fans came about in the southern United States during the mid-1800s. Instead of an electric motor, the blades were being turned through a system of belts using a stream of water plus a turbine.

This procedure allowed not only one ceiling fan to move but also accommodated several units and was used in offices and stores back then. During the latter part of the 1800s, the ceiling fan with the electric motor was finally invented.

The inventor, Philip Diehl, was also responsible for initially using electric motors in sewing machines. He adapted the same system for ceiling fans. This time, the blades were attached to the ceiling fan blade bracket, which was connected to the motor to allow smooth movement.

From the simple ceiling fan invention, several other innovations were made such as the adding of light kit to add extra lighting in an area or to replace the light fixture that may have been displaced in the process of installing the ceiling fan.

The Evolution Continues

The development of the ceiling fan continued through the years. They were a popular fixture especially in warm places. From two blades that were attached to the blade bracket, more blades were added to make the ceiling fans quieter and the air circulation better.

Although there was a time in the early 1900s when the popularity of the ceiling fan started fading away because of the birth of another device, which is the air conditioning, there were some countries and places that still continued using it.

These areas experiencing a year round of warm climate considered air conditioning as a high-energy-consuming appliance remained faithful to the use of ceiling fans.

Ceiling fan sales went through a series of ups and downs. Sales went up again when the realization sunk in to consumers that ceiling fan consumes far less energy compared to air-conditioning units.

Then it went down again after most amenities including air-conditioning units were offered at a much lower cost.

Ceiling Fan Blade Bracket: Pros versus Cons

When purchasing a ceiling fan, one should also be aware of the blade bracket that comes with it since the overall performance of the unit also depends largely on it. Knowing its advantages and disadvantages could generate more savings in the end.

Pros: Ceiling fans are definitely effective appliances in places where warm climate is frequently experienced. A nice and strong ceiling fan blade bracket makes a steady movement of the blades, which in turn makes air circulation much better and encompassing a much broader area.
Cons: Instances where the ceiling blade bracket is constantly being triggered may cause some distortion of the blades itself.

The Verdict

There are many types and designs of ceiling fans as well as different types of ceiling fan blade bracket that have been developed and manufactured over the years. This is to answer the demands of the consuming public. Ceiling fans are both used for home consumption and as an accessory for decorating homes.
