Ceiling Fan Replacement Parts
Which Parts Are Replaceable?

What about ceiling fan replacement parts? Ceiling fans have become as essential as a refrigerator in a home, but many people worry about ceiling fan replacement parts should their fan give in.

When it nears hot months, people start to ensure that their fan is in working order and if there is a problem, they need to know how to solve it.

First of all, you have to know how a fan works; if you don’t know the parts of a fan you will not be able to identify a problem on your own.

Instead, you might have to call someone in to show you what is wrong and then see to the problem from there, meaning you will spend extra money.

Ceiling fan replacement parts are available for most fans but let us cover the main parts of a fan so that you know the basics as to how it operates.

Of course all the parts are important in the functioning of a ceiling fan, but there are three parts that makes up the fan, these are the blades, the motor and the capacitors. A more detailed description of these is;

Ceiling Fan Replacement Parts

The blades – the blades of the fan is what produces the cool air, therefore they are essential in the working process and should be maintained regularly.

Replacement blade parts are available in many stores and can be purchased separately so you don’t have to buy a whole new fan if there is something wrong with the blades.

The motor – the motor of the fan is what allows the blades to rotate and allows you to choose settings. The bad news about replacing the motor of a ceiling fan is that it is very expensive.

It can be replaced, but at a cost that is likely to be the same amount you paid for the entire fan in the first place. If you think you could do with a new fan when your motor has given in, it would be wise to purchase a whole new fan instead of just a new motor.

The capacitors – these are the parts that need replacing most often. They would probably need changing every few years, but if you use the fan very often, maybe every few months they will need to be replaced.

If the capacitor of your fan doesn’t work after a few months of use, don’t worry, it happens like that! They don’t last very long, but this would also depend on the type of ceiling fan you have.

Ceiling fan replacement parts are available, but remember that you should always ask the store about the guarantee of the fan before you go out and buy the replacement parts. You might be spending money unnecessary, as the fan could still be guaranteed.

If you are unable to find a store where the parts are available, the best thing to do is contact the place where you originally bought the fan. They will be able to direct you to someone that could help, or they will do the replacing of the parts for you.
