The fans are very quiet due to multi-capacitor and double-sealed bearing; still providing better-quality air circulation for both the winter and summer months.

By reversing the direction of the blades, the fan’s direction in the summer should be set to blow the air downward and the blades should lead with the higher side of the blade leading.

The breeze speeds evaporation of perspiration on the skin making the body’s natural cooling more effective. In winter the fan should be set to turn opposite from the summer so that the blades lower edge leads because warmer air rises to the ceiling, the ceiling fan draws the cooler air upward forcing the warmer air down; effectively evening the temperature in the room.

A great feature about this fan is that there are several choices available in downrods of 12”, 24”, and 36” rods, and can be installed with or without the light fixtures. The “Whisper Wind” feature is inherent with this model.

The main complaint about this fan is that the bulbs are not the regular size, and it is a bit heavy requiring two people to install the unit; however, there were no complaints about the operation of the fan.

3. Landmark Plus 42” Ceiling Fan

The Landmark Plus is another very popular model with a light that Home Depot offers their consumers at an affordable $60. The blades on this ceiling fan come with a white or bleached oak finish and a three light kit that has frosted, ribbed light shades, but the ceiling can be installed without the light kit if the consumer chooses.

Its quiet three speed motor offers a reversible operation for more effective cooling in the summer, and heating in the winter. There are a wide variety of light kits available with this unit. The only complain that was found on this model is that after a few years it had a slight squeak; however, this was easily remedied.
