While the downrod and other accessories are already included in the package, remote control and wall control for this model both have to be bought separately. This is a downside considering that the fan costs as much as it does, which means consumers won’t be willing to spend more. This gets them stuck to using the included three-speed pull chain.

2. Hunter Fan 23963 70-Inch Stockbridge, New Bronze

At $300, this unique-looking eye-catching Hunter fan is a bargain. Aside from controlling the fan and its speeds, the remote can also control the built in light fixture.

Like other Hunter ceiling fans, the Royal Oak is an Energy Star model and is reversible for year-round use. However, instead of the usual WhisperWind motor, it uses the AirMax motor, which is more capable of powering up a fan of this size.

This fan is great for both contemporary rooms as well as traditional-styled ballrooms, dining rooms, and other large rooms thanks to the ceiling fan’s clean but very refined look.
