Made in China - now there's a surprise. I made the mistake of not checking the fan pull chain before having someone install it. Now, of course, the Shanghai engineers really shine. And, it would have cost .64 more per unit to make some kind of nylon grommet or similar.

So it grates. And, over time, it will fail. It's metal on metal. Another example of an American company with advertising dollars selling cheap - you guessed it - Chinese goods. These American companies have become nothing more than importing middlemen. Junk - don't buy it.
